Finding the location of a leak
The position and timing of water can narrow down a leak. Water near the inlet during filling may point to supply connections; pooling near the bottom during draining can suggest a hose or internal path. Switch off power safely and close the water tap if leakage is active.
Door seals and detergent drawers
On front-loading machines, a damaged or dirty door gasket can allow water to escape. Excess detergent or buildup around the dispenser may also cause overflow. Visually inspect accessible seals without pulling, cutting or dismantling components.
Inlet and outlet connections
Hoses can loosen, split or become stressed when a machine is moved. Take note of whether water appears while the machine is idle or only during a wash. A photograph of the wet area can be more useful than guessing which internal component has failed.
What to confirm during leak repairs
Request identification of the source before paying for a new part. Clarify whether a replacement hose, seal or fitting is included, whether the machine will be tested under normal water pressure, and what follow-up support is offered.
